I.M. Terrell Academy is open to incoming 9th grade students who live in Fort Worth ISD or surrounding areas. Students must have a strong interest in either STEM or Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) and be ready to engage in a rigorous, college-preparatory environment.

Yes. Most courses at I.M. Terrell are offered at the Honors, OnRamps (dual enrollment), Dual Credit, or Advanced Placement (AP) level. This ensures students are consistently challenged and prepared for college-level academics.

Yes. Students applying to the Visual & Performing Arts pathway must complete an audition or portfolio review as part of the application process. Specific requirements will be shared after the application is submitted.

While I.M. Terrell does not currently offer UIL sports teams, students may participate in athletics through their home campus or district-wide programs. The school also offers wellness and physical education opportunities on campus.

Students can join a wide variety of clubs, including robotics, student government, National Honor Society, coding, and more. Many clubs are student-led, and new clubs can be created based on student interest.

Yes. Fort Worth ISD provides transportation for eligible students who live within the district and are accepted into I.M. Terrell Academy.

Applications are submitted through the FWISD Gold Seal Choices website. Be sure to select I.M. Terrell Academy as one of your top choices. The application typically opens in the fall for the following school year.
