Career Exploration

Career exploration is the process of discovering career options that align with a student’s interests, strengths, values, and goals. It empowers students to make informed decisions about their future—whether that includes college, vocational training, entrepreneurship, or direct entry into the workforce.

Goals of Career Exploration

  • Help apprentices identify their passions and strengths
  • Connect academic learning to real-world careers
  • Provide tools for planning postsecondary pathways
  • Encourage self-reflection and goal setting
  • Promote equity and access to high-demand careers

Examples of Career Clusters:
  • Health Science
  • Information Technology
  • Arts, Audio/Video Technology & Communications
  • Education & Training
  • Business Management & Administration
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
