Purpose & Goals

The Whiz Quiz Club at I.M. Terrell Academy provides students with a competitive and collaborative space to showcase academic knowledge across disciplines. The club’s goals include developing teamwork and communication skills, encouraging social interaction and peer learning, promoting pride in academic achievement and school representation, preparing for academic competitions against other schools, and enhancing motor coordination and strategic thinking.

Planned Activities & Meeting Schedule

Throughout the academic year, Whiz Quiz members will participate in practice matches scheduled outside of school hours, weekly competitions during the Fall and Winter seasons, strategy sessions to review match performance and develop new tactics, and travel opportunities to compete at the Arlington eSports Stadium if advancing to finals. Meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays during lunch in Room 1311.

Support for Student Development

Participation in Whiz Quiz supports student growth by fostering collaboration, critical thinking, and academic confidence. Students gain hands-on experience in team-based competition, strategic planning, and communication—skills that benefit both academic and personal development.

Alignment with Mission, Motto, Vision, and Core Values (MMVC)

Whiz Quiz aligns with I.M. Terrell Academy’s MMVC by encouraging collaboration, intellectual engagement, and pride in community. Students learn to work together, apply knowledge creatively, and grow through both competition and reflection—building a foundation for future success as thoughtful, innovative leaders.
