Purpose & Goals

The Soccer Club at I.M. Terrell Academy provides students with a dynamic and inclusive space to develop athletic skills, build teamwork, and foster a healthy lifestyle. The club’s goals include developing teamwork and communication skills, promoting physical fitness and active living, creating opportunities for social interaction and community engagement, educating students on college scholarship opportunities through athletics, and enhancing motor coordination and strategic thinking through gameplay.

Planned Activities & Meeting Schedule

Throughout the academic year, Soccer Club members will participate in weekly practices focused on skill development and conditioning, learn the rules of soccer and analyze game footage to study strategies, and engage in semester scrimmages to apply skills in a competitive and supportive environment. Meetings and practices are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the campus fields.

Support for Student Development

Participation in the Soccer Club supports student growth by promoting teamwork, resilience, and healthy habits. Students gain hands-on experience in athletic training, strategic analysis, and collaborative play—skills that translate into both academic and personal success.

Alignment with Mission, Motto, Vision, and Core Values (MMVC)

The Soccer Club aligns with I.M. Terrell Academy’s MMVC by encouraging creative problem-solving, perseverance, and pride in community. Students learn to apply real-life strategies on the field, embrace challenges, and grow through both victories and setbacks—building character and leadership in the process.

Compliance with Senate Bill 12

The Soccer Club complies fully with the requirements of Texas Senate Bill 12. The club does not engage in discussions or activities related to sexual orientation or gender identity. All participating students must submit a signed FWISD Parent Consent Form to ensure parental awareness and approval of their involvement.
