Purpose & Goals

Panther eSports at I.M. Terrell Academy provides students with a competitive and collaborative space to explore the world of gaming and digital strategy. The club’s goals include developing teamwork and communication skills, creating opportunities for social interaction and community building, educating students on college scholarship opportunities in eSports, exploring STEM concepts and gaming-related careers, enhancing motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and fostering a supportive and inclusive gaming environment.
 

Planned Activities & Meeting Schedule

Throughout the academic year, Panther eSports members will participate in practice matches scheduled outside of school hours, weekly competitions during the Fall and Winter seasons, strategy sessions to review match performance and discuss new tactics, and championship opportunities at the Arlington eSports Stadium if qualified. Meetings are held weekly on Fridays during lunch in Room 1107.
 

Support for Student Development

Participation in Panther eSports helps students build collaboration, strategic thinking, and social skills. Members also develop improved motor coordination and gain exposure to potential careers in gaming, technology, and digital media.

Alignment with Mission, Motto, Vision, and Core Values (MMVC)

Panther eSports supports I.M. Terrell Academy’s MMVC by encouraging creative expression, teamwork, and innovation. Students explore artistic talents through designing team artwork, avatars, and promotional materials, while gaining insight into the evolving role of gaming in society. The club empowers students to develop skills that are relevant to future careers and fosters a culture of collaboration and forward-thinking.

Compliance with Senate Bill 12

Panther eSports complies fully with the requirements of Texas Senate Bill 12. The club does not engage in discussions or activities related to sexual orientation or gender identity. All participating students must submit a signed FWISD Parent Consent Form to ensure parental awareness and approval of their involvement.
