Purpose & Goals

The Green Club at I.M. Terrell Academy is committed to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability among students. The club’s primary goals are to educate apprentices on the importance of recycling, encourage eco-friendly practices, and foster a sense of responsibility toward the environment through hands-on service and advocacy.

Planned Activities & Meeting Schedule

Throughout the academic year, members will participate in:
  • Recycling paper, aluminum, and glass across campus every Friday during advisory
  • Organizing litter pickup events to maintain a clean and healthy school environment
  • Designing and posting educational materials on environmental conservation
  • Collaborating with other student organizations to promote sustainability initiatives

Support for Student Development

Participation in the Green Club helps students build leadership, teamwork, and civic responsibility. Members gain practical experience in organizing events, managing projects, and making a meaningful impact on their school and community.

The Green Club reflects I.M. Terrell Academy’s MMVC by fostering a student-centered educational experience rooted in innovation, responsibility, and excellence. Through environmental stewardship, students are empowered to become thoughtful leaders and advocates for a sustainable future.

Compliance with Senate Bill 12

The Green Club complies fully with the requirements of Texas Senate Bill 12. The club does not engage in discussions or activities related to sexual orientation or gender identity. All participating students must submit a signed FWISD Parent Consent Form to ensure parental awareness and approval of their involvement.
