Purpose & Goals
The Drone Club at I.M. Terrell Academy is dedicated to sparking student interest in drone technology, flight mechanics, and responsible operation. The club’s goals include developing sequencing and spatial awareness skills, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving, and exploring the STEM principles behind drone design and flight.
Planned Activities & Meeting Schedule
- Learning the fundamentals of drone safety and operation
- Practicing flight maneuvers and obstacle navigation
- Exploring drone-related careers and emerging technologies
- Participating in drone challenges and competitions
- Engaging in coding and programming for autonomous flight (where applicable)
Meetings are held Monday through Thursday after school in Rooms 2112 and 2113.
Support for Student Development
Drone Club supports student growth by enhancing spatial reasoning, sequencing, and critical thinking. Students gain hands-on experience with drone technology, learn to troubleshoot flight issues, and collaborate on team-based challenges that simulate real-world applications.

Compliance with Senate Bill 12
The Drone Club complies fully with the requirements of Texas Senate Bill 12. The club does not engage in discussions or activities related to sexual orientation or gender identity. All participating students must submit a signed FWISD Parent Consent Form to ensure parental awareness and approval of their involvement.
